CASOE changed my life for the better. I was able to gain a sense of community and a family at a young age. Being able to give back to the Detroit community through powerful and positive theater was an experience that changed my life. I now choose to continue to give back to Detroit as many ways as I can. Mrs. Smith believed in not just my talents, but my educational future and because of her recommendations, I was able to become a Gates Millennium Scholar, and go to college and graduate school with no debt. As I intend to graduate with my masters in public health, i look that and thank CASOE for their contribution to my life.

Starting my journey as an artist at CASOE was one of the best decisions that I could have made… well technically my mom made but mother’s know best! CASOE taught me at a young age the importance of hard work, resiliency, most important family. As the youngest in the room I was embraced by so many big brothers and sisters and I matured so quickly because of them. CASOE will always be my family and I wouldn’t be where I am now without them. I currently attend the illustrious Howard University as a Bachelor in Fine Arts Theatre Arts Arts Administration Candidate. I will graduate with my class in Spring 2021.
